Our community
Client Support Specialist provides the following services for individuals and their families
living with HIV.
Advice and Information
We provide advice and information on general issues including; treatments and medication,
bereavement, immigration, housing, schools, social services, testing for HIV.
Emotional Support
You can talk to someone in times of crisis, in safe, non judgemental
environment.
Service Users Forum
You can have a say in the services we provide and influence policy and other
services. Read more below under the Service Users Forum heading.
Expert Patient Programme
Practical Support
Support with day to day issues i.e. filling in forms etc.
Service Users Forum
You can have your say in the services we provide and influence policy.
Meetings are held every other month in a safe, private environment and include presentations on relevant topics.
Traditional African food is always provided and in house child chare facilities are available. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Referrals to Other Services
We are able to put you in touch with other agencies who provide other services that you may need.
Hardship Grants Application
During those times when you need extra financial assistance,
we can apply to other charities on your behalf for hardship grants.
African Access Project
Supporting you through the GUM clinics and one to one sessions, enabling you to
access appropriate services to provide for your daily needs.
Peer Support
We can arrange for you to talk with someone, who has experienced
similar circumstances to yourself, about their own situation and the support they
received.
Expert Patient Programme
We offer Self-Management courses for people living with chronic
health conditions, which are run by an experienced tutor.
The Aim of the courses is to attain the greatest
possible quality of life for patients and also;
